WELCOME TO NAPA VALLEY RELEASE NOTES
SO, WHAT’S CHANGED?
NAPA VALLEY RELEASE NOTES: License pool improvements, new Office reports and other new features
It’s time again for another 4ward365 release!! Each quarter, we release new features, enhancements and updates to the 4ward365 solution.
Welcome to Napa Valley, the region of incomparable natural beauty and winegrowing heritage in northern California. Because of its unique geologic history, Napa Valley has a remarkable diversity of microclimates, weather and geography, as well as some of the most diverse soils found on earth.
Using Napa Valley as the namesake region of our new release helps describe the uniqueness of the new features we’ve included in this version of 4ward365.
Here is a sneak peek at just some of the many exciting features that will be available in the upcoming 4ward365 release.
WHAT’S NEW IN 4WARD365?
NEW LICENSE POOL
This is one thing that makes our solution unique. We enable organizations to partition their Office 365 tenant into smaller, more manageable, sub-tenants. To enhance this capability, we have changed License Pools to let customers use two different attributes to create their sub-tenants, or virtual-tenants (v-tenants), like Company or Country. Together, these double attributes create more specific sub-tenants to help customers segment their Office 365 environment, control their license distribution, and assign administrators securely to just that group of users.
We have also enabled additional fields as discriminators like “Custom Attribute”.
This is very helpful as it enables simplified license management and the ability to perform more accurate license and usage chargeback accounting by business unit, PLUS, geographic location; or whatever combination of attributes you choose.
It also very easy to export into Excel, allowing maximum flexibility to customers for internal distribution of license costs.
MANAGE GROUPS RENAMED IN V-TENANTS
With 4ward365 a single Office 365 tenant can be divided into smaller, more manageable, virtual-tenants (v-tenants) by grouping users with similar attributes, such as department or location. This is very useful to simplify admin monitoring, reporting and account updates. 4ward365 enables the merger of multiple tenants into a single environment view.
In order to clearly define this unique feature in 4ward365, we have renamed “Manage Groups” in “V-Tenants”.
GLOBAL LICENSES ROLE
4ward365 uses a concept of Roles, designed to give the site owner the ability to control what users can and cannot do within the management portal.
We have introduced a new pre-defined role called Global Licenses. It allows an administrator to assign and remove licenses for any License Pool available within the tenant, but it will not be affected by License Pools.
NEW MANAGEMENT ACTION
Imagine that a user inside your organization is out of the office for some reason and forgets to set an automatic reply. With thousands of messages coming into their inbox, it can quickly get unruly. To alleviate this problem, we have added a new administration feature. You can now configure auto-reply options for specific users and manage Quarantine email messages from within 4ward365.
NEW ORGANIZATION SETTINGS PAGE
The new organization settings page provides several ways to manage the account, such as Graph API, Management, and Activity API settings.
The organization settings page is accessible via the user icon next to the notification icon in the right-side navigation.
Tired of being represented by a silhouette? Now, it’s easy to change your profile image in 4ward365. The experience is a bit more personal and there is no need to use scripts, as the entire photo management process is automatic.
